So does that mean a brand new from dealer receiver that begins with "11" was manufactured in ? Using the date codes above, it would suggest BK. They had to change the format in around In my opinion the date code is better to use, especially on barrels where the SN is usually somewhat random and not matched to the receiver. The first 2 digits of the receiver SN matched the manufacture date from about xxxxx until about xxxxx. The serial of the receiver can usually tell you the year made. You are confusing date codes with serial numbers. Date codes are also on the bottom of your barrel monoblocks. To the right of it you will see two more letters. Pay no attention to the "DE" that means "Made in Germany". There you will see some letters and proof marks. With the barrel removed from your receiver look down upon the top of the right starboard frame rail.
